General Job Description
The Human Resources Generalist helps plan, organize, develop, implement and coordinate human resources policies, programs and practices while taking measures to increase the company’s effectiveness and efficiency.

The HR Generalist reports to the HR Director.
-> Business Process Analysis and Documentation: Research, analyze, and document the electrical project process at Weifield finding ways to be more efficient and profitable.
->Identify Solutions for Improvement in the Organization: Through process analysis, this individual shall determine areas of improvement in terms of efficiency and company effectiveness, developing appropriate solutions.
->Information Dissemination: Develop and facilitate high-quality and high-frequency communications throughout the company. Investigate and implement tools to achieve these goals.
->Company “Handyman”: Act as an internal consultant to help multiple persons and departments within the organization develop programs and solutions to enhance efficient and/or effectiveness.
->Training/Mentoring: Promote the professional growth of the team. Continually pursue opportunities for personal career/training development.
->Industry Awareness: Continually seek industry and market information to provide Weifield with the information necessary for successful business development.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Selection
Identify hiring needs within the company at all levels from professional to field employees.
Recruit to maintain constant flow of applicants for field positions through external social media sites; attend career fairs as needed.
Develop and post job openings, complying with EEO/AAP requirements.
Reply to applicant inquiries, screen applicants and schedule interviews for hiring managers; participate as appropriate.
Conduct previous employer verification, reference checks, FCRA criminal and credit background checks, electrical licensing verification; track results of physical capacity evaluation and drug screens.
Conduct E-Verify work authorization for new hires and current employees working on federal contracts.
Conduct I-9 employment eligibility verification audit for document record keeping compliance.
Register new hires with the State
Participate in orientations and welcoming new employees into the company.
Audit and maintain employee records and files.
Create with “Welcome Packet” for presentation to new hires at orientation and entering new hires into software system.
Act as HR point person for verification of employment requests, questions related to benefits and COBRA, electrical apprentice affidavits and paystub requests.
Track referral bonuses for pay out to employees weekly.
Enter all new hire orientation pay, bonuses related to certifications, and assist with corrections to pay as needed.
Send termination notices to 3rd party benefit vendors, import and export benefit payments monthly into payroll and assist in the overall management of the benefits software.
Execute all final pay, termination of benefits and in payroll systems
Manage and approve monthly bills from 3rd party vendors. Assist with benefit/HR related bill audits.
Attend and maintain company Wellness Committee; executing initiatives and communications related to Wellness with the company.
Assist in maintenance of MVR related software and employee files.
Ad hoc reports for departments.
Coordinate training for employees and managers in EEO/Sexual Harassment compliance.
Keep managers updated in FMLA, ADA, FLSA, HIPAA, diversity and other required legal compliance.
Promote and administer employee reward and recognition programs.
Create opportunities to train staff members, one-on-one.
Create and distribute monthly employee birthday and anniversary lists.
Coordinate employee anniversary letter of recognition and gifts.
Performance Management and Compensation
Assist in development and annual update job descriptions and pay scales for every position in the company.
Assist HR Manager to ensure compensation plans are congruent with the industry and applied without discrimination.
Coordinate and track apprentice wage adjustments twice each year (June and December).
Document and enter pay rate changes into software.
Help conduct employee enrollment meetings upon eligibility, thoroughly explaining all aspects of the benefits package and encouraging 401(k) participation through education.
Assist annual open enrollment process, effectively communicating benefit changes to employees, including health, dental, vision, all voluntary benefits and 401(k).
Ensure benefits are administered in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Maintain open enrollment portal through software for benefit enrollment and changes into appropriate benefit systems.
Review and maintain employee and employer benefit tables in software for proper deductions for payroll.
Send monthly benefit reminders to new hires and assist with employee online enrollment issues.
Post and maintain current company benefit summary plan descriptions and all ERISA related materials and notices on company benefits website.
Be the point person for WOTC processing through RetroTax
Government Regulation Compliance
Create annual EEO1 reports, 5500 and census requests.
File EEO-1, VETS 100A and other required reports annually; maintain records and logs to conform to EEO/AAP and OFCCP regulations.
Act as back up and Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to insure company’s compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations such as FMLA, ADA, FLSA, HIPAA.
Ensure compliance with employment law posting requirements on jobsites. Request and distribute all updated employment law posters annually or as updates are made available.
Coordinate with Safety & Training Manager to ensure Workers Compensation claim compliance.
Coordinate and manage Unemployment Insurance requests for information and claims. Respond to all Unemployment requests, acting as company representative for subsequent unemployment hearings.
Consult legal counsel as needed.
Represent company at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
Employee Relations and Human Resources Management
Set up new employees in HR software and update information as needed.
Track employee warnings and safety violations into HR software.
Propose, develop, update and enforce company policies.
Assist in editing and maintaining employee manual, posting to employee portal as updated.
Maintain Weifield Weekly for the HR department
Develop, update and document company procedures and forms, posting to employee portal as updated.
Review and participate in employee terminations, resignations and exit interviews.
Ensure all employees receive high level of service; respond immediately to questions and concerns.
Maintain open communication with all employees, re-enforcing company vision, values and goals.
Perform additional assignments as directed by ownership and HR Manager.
Inform HR Manager and assist with investigations and resolution of employee complaints (formal and informal) regarding EEO/AAP, harassment, disciplinary or other employment policies or compliance issues.
Job Specific Accountabilities
Assist HR Department with all day to day functions
Recruitment, pre-hiring requirements, offer letters, onboarding meetings and data entry
Assist all employees with employee relation matters, employee investigations and UI hearings
Final Pay and off boarding requirements for terminated employees
Assistance with payroll entry related to referrals and orientation pay
Assist the HR Director with Benefit Administration, OE meetings and bill audits
Ensure all ADA and EEO1 reporting are completed annually
HRIS implementation and daily maintenance
Ad Hoc reports and projects to support all departments
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a human resources generalist or coordinator required.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, psychology, or related field preferred.
Proficient in MS Office with ability to learn new HR software.
Experience in Microsoft Dynamics software experience preferred. Training will be provided for HR, payroll and reporting modules.
Prior experience in benefit administration, compensation, discipline, employee and labor relations, training and development, and employee communications required.
Discretion in working with sensitive and confidential information.
Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
Experience with investigative, interviewing and mediation techniques preferred.
Entrepreneurial approach to problem solving with the ability to handle a variety of tasks.

Pay Rate: Exempt Status; Pay Range 52,000 – 60,000
Employee Health Insurance: Healthcare 100% of the “Base Plan” by WGC 1st of the month following date of hire.
Voluntary Dental/Vision Insurance: Paid by employee based on coverage selection 1st of the month following date of hire.
Disability & Accident Insurance: Paid by employee based on coverage selection 1st of the month following date of hire.
Life Insurance: 50K Life and ADD policy for employee only, paid by employer 1st of the month following date of hire.
HSA Plan: Employee can set aside $3600 pre-tax dollars /$7200 for Family 1st of the month following the date of hire.
HSA Company Contribution: Up to a max of $600 annually, contributed through four quarterly contributions. The employee must have active work hours on the week of assistance to be eligible. This amount is inclusive in the calculation of the max contributions allowable under an HSA plan.
PTO: 10 days per year 1-5 years and 15 days per year after 5 years. Seven paid holidays per year.
401k/Safe Harbor: Participate after 60 days. Weifield matches 100% of investment up to 4% after one year of consistent employment.

Work Schedule: 7AM- 5PM Monday through Thursday and 7AM to 3PM on Friday.
Due to the nature of this position additional time may be needed in order to complete work activities with no additional compensation.
