KARLA NUGENT A PANELIST AT 2021 DENVER INSTITUTE FOR FAITH & WORK ‘BUSINESS FOR THE COMMON GOOD’ CONFERENCE!
Last Friday, Karla Nugent, Weifield Chief Revenue Officer, joined Pete Coors, Vice Chairman & Former CEO of Molson Coors Brewing Company, on stage for a session entitled ‘Love Your Place’ at the 2021 Denver Institute for Faith & Work ‘Business for the Common Good’ Conference – at the Grand Hyatt Denver in Denver, Colorado! Due to current COVID-19 conditions, the conference was also livestreamed to viewers across the globe, online.
Overall, 17 speakers presented at this one-day event which connected hundreds of business leaders passionate about cultivating professional excellence and creating a lasting impact; attendees had the opportunity to meet faith-led executives, learn from real-life stories of failures and successes, and refine their vision for what a calling to business can look like.
Nugent and Coors’ presentation focused on local issues in considering the unique needs of our communities and the critical role business leaders play in shaping the moral fabric, job opportunities, and cultural health of their place. A short video was featured, highlighting Weifield’s focus to bring individuals with challenging past life circumstances and participants from area therapeutic programs such as Stout Street Foundation, Peer 1 Residential Program, Goodwill Industries International, Denver Rescue Mission, and a variety of other organizations, into our apprenticeship program – and if they show success, they are then hired into our organization. Dozens of employees who have successfully completed Weifield’s apprenticeship program are successfully rehabilitated graduates of these programs.
Business for the Common Good is an annual event presented and hosted by the Denver Institute for Faith & Work, an educational nonprofit dedicated to forming men and women to serve God, neighbor, and society through their daily work. Through events, courses, podcasts, and emerging leader fellowship, DIFW disciples Christians to discover their calling and live it out through their work.
