General Job Description:

The CAD / BIM Manager is responsible for managing and developing Weifield’s CAD and BIM program for all major Commercial and Industrial projects, while taking measures to increase the company’s effectiveness and efficiency.


  • Recommend, revise, develop and document new processes, policies, and procedures related to CAD design
  • Lead in the establishment and enforcement of CAD Standards / BIM execution plans
  • Serve to provide guidance and coordination related to BIM project requirements and needed delivery methods
  • Internally coordinate, manage and create BIM standards and management plans
  • Contribute and coordinate with global standards groups across the company
  • Work directly with senior – level personnel in interpreting the actual needs of individual clients
  • Direct and educate others in the systems and procedures for clash detection
  • Determine required scope and level of effort of project work, including the degree of completeness and precision to which project elements should be addressed
  • Serve as the Technical Leader for CAD staff in the water / wastewater practice
  • Be a leader and mentor for all matters CAD / BIM for other CAD users in the branch and office
  • Represent Weifield and interact in a professional manner with client and subcontractor representatives while on field assignments
  • Meets with project team as appropriate to discuss questions and resolve problems on projects
  • Monitors projects for errors and enforces model clean up and use of standards up by project team
  • Provide day to day support of software
  • Maintain CAD / BIM drawing templates. Coordinate templates with each specific trade
  • Achieve division wide standard process for model setup
  • Create and maintain guidance materials for new CAD users onboarding the operation
  • Assist in evaluation of potential hires for CAD / BIM capability
  • Provide recommendations to Operations regarding CAD training needs
  • Coordinate with IT and CAD vendor as appropriate regarding software licenses and installations
  • Update staff on new features when new versions of CAD / BIM software are released

  • Track manpower for department and project future growth

Qualifications / Skills Required:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience using REVIT in an ASMEP / Infrastructure environment is required
  • Prior experience as a CAD / BIM Manager role a plus
  • A high level of competence in directing and managing large single – disciplined projects and / or small to moderate sized multi – disciplined projects
  • Working knowledge of BIM software applications including MicroStation, Revit, AutoCAD, CadWorks, MEP, and other software
  • Ability to identify and evaluate matters which may have a major impact to the area / department / group, or the overall business
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must work well in a project team environment, as well as have the capacity to conduct work with minimal supervision and oversight
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (MVR) policy

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Lifting 51 to 150 lbs. with help as required.
  • Carry tools and materials up to 100 lbs. up to 400 feet.
  • Candidate must be able to gain access to construction work areas via ladders and stairs safely.

Working Conditions:

  • Job requires working 8 to 10 hours daily up to 6 days a week.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, masks, earplugs and respirators).

Compensation Package

Pay Rate Exempt Status; Pay Range $100,00 – 124,000
Employee Health Insurance Healthcare 100% of the employee medical “Base Plan” by WGC 1st of the month following date of hire.
Voluntary Dental/Vision Insurance Paid by employee based on coverage selection 1st of the month following date of hire.
Disability & Accident Insurance Paid by employee based on coverage selection 1st of the month following date of hire.
Life Insurance 50K Life and ADD policy for employee only, paid by employer 1st of the month following date of hire.
HSA Plan Employee can set aside $3600 pre-tax dollars /$7200 for Family 1st of the month following the date of hire.
HSA Company Contribution Up to a max of $600 annually, contributed through four quarterly contributions. The employee must have active work hours on the week of assistance to be eligible. This amount is inclusive in the calculation of the max contributions allowable under an HSA plan.
PTO Accrued 10 days per year 1-2 years, 12 days per year 2-5 years, 14 days per year 5-7 years, 16 days per year 7-10 years and 20 days per year 10+ years.  Seven paid holidays per year.
401k/Safe Harbor Participate after 60 days. Weifield matches 100% of investment up to 4% after one year of consistent employment.
