WEIFIELD JOINS HENSEL PHELPS ‘FOOD FOR THOUGHT’ VOLUNTEER DAY!
Hensel Phelps, GC for Weifield’s Convention Center Expansion project, held a volunteer day last Friday in support of the ‘Food for Thought’ organization – and two of our field teammates on the project, Jeremy Daniel and Evan Trahan, were glad to join in!
Founded by Bob Bell in 2012, Food for Thought Denver was created when Bell became aware that many of Denver’s school kids were not getting enough to eat — especially over the weekends. Today, Food for Thought Denver remains a 100% volunteer organization which strives to eliminate weekend hunger — servicing nearly 70 schools in the Denver area. Each Friday, individuals, students, and corporate volunteers gather to fill PowerSacks. Each bag contains enough non-perishable food items to feed a family of four for the weekend. The bags are then distributed to the students on Friday afternoons to take home to their families.
It took the team just two hours to pack their allotted grocery bags…just a bit of time but the result has a major impact on childhood hunger! Shown here are a couple of photos from the event.
Proud of you, Evan and Jeremy – for supporting the C in our PACT and helping the youngest in our community!
